CCTV News: At the press conference of the National Development and Reform Commission held on August 1, the relevant person in charge introduced that since this year, the highest electricity load in the country has hit a record high for four consecutive times, reaching a maximum of 1.508 billion kilowatts, an increase of 57 million kilowatts from last year's extreme value, equivalent to the electricity load in a Fujian Province.

Faced with the rapidly rising power demand, the National Development and Reform Commission has worked with local and key enterprises to make arrangements in advance and taken a series of powerful measures. The national cross-regional power transmission reached a maximum of 148 million kilowatts, setting a new record high. Organize power grid enterprises to cooperate across business areas, and at peak times, through mutual assistance between Fujian and Guangdong DC and anti-transmission of Jiangcheng DC to achieve 3.2 million kilowatts of power support between the two networks. At present, the national electricity supply is stable and orderly, and the electricity demand in various places has been well guaranteed.

In the next step, the National Development and Reform Commission will guide all localities to coordinate power and coal production and transportation demand and power generation and gas use to ensure sufficient and stable primary energy supply. Continue to strengthen the operation and management of various conventional power sources, and coordinate the supporting role of new energy power generation and the bottom-line guarantee role of thermal power. Actively carry out cross-provincial and cross-regional power dispatch through medium- and long-term power contracts, spot markets, emergency dispatching, etc.
