CCTV News: According to the website of the State Administration for Market Regulation, from January to June this year, my country carried out 485 defective consumer goods recalls, involving 2.9274 million products, an increase of 22.17% and 3.61% year-on-year respectively. As of June 30 this year, my country has carried out a total of 6,470 defective consumer goods recalls, involving 108 million products.
From the nature of the recall, from January to June this year, the market supervision department conducted investigations and urged enterprises to recall 463 consumer goods, involving 2.1107 million products, accounting for 95.46% and 72.10% respectively. As of June 30 this year, the market supervision department conducted investigations and urged enterprises to recall consumer goods to a total of 5,848 times, totaling 74.9128 million pieces, accounting for 90.39% and 69.36% respectively.
From the recall category, the most recalls from January to June this year were: 168 recalls of children's products, accounting for 34.64%; 108 recalls of other transportation equipment, accounting for 22.27%; and 101 recalls of electronic and electrical appliances, accounting for 20.82%. The largest number of recalls were: 1.3045 million electronic appliances recalled, accounting for 44.56%; 945,500 food-related products recalled, accounting for 32.30%; 348,700 children's supplies recalled, accounting for 11.91%.
From the regional distribution, the efforts of recall work in various provinces and cities have been continuously strengthened, among which Guangdong Province and Hunan Province are the provinces (cities) with the largest number of recalls and the largest number of recalls respectively. The top three provinces (cities) with recalls from January to June this year are: 112 producers in Guangdong Province, accounting for 23.09%; 68 producers in Tianjin, accounting for 14.02%; 35 producers in Shanghai, accounting for 7.22%. The top three provinces (cities) recalled from January to June this year: producers in Hunan Province recalled 750,800 pieces, accounting for 25.65%; producers in Jiangsu Province recalled 697,100 pieces, accounting for 23.81%; producers in Guangdong Province recalled 570,900 pieces, accounting for 19.50%.
