A relevant person in charge of the National Health Insurance Administration introduced that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the basic medical insurance participation rate stabilized at around 95%, and the number of people participating in basic medical insurance across the country reached 1.327 billion in 2024. The long-term mechanism for basic medical insurance participation is constantly improving, and medical assistance is funded to approximately 80 million people participating in the insurance every year. The fund payment ratio in the hospitalization expenses catalog of employees and residents is stable at around 80% and 70%. A mechanism for co-operative security for employees' medical insurance and a coordinated security for general outpatient expenses has been fully established. The pilot project of the long-term care insurance system has been deepened, with insurance participation covering nearly 190 million people.
