On the afternoon of January 16, the Information Office of the People's Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region held a press conference on the 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Dingri, Shigatse, Tibet Autonomous Region. Liu Huazhong, deputy mayor of Shigatse Municipal People's Government, said that he would strive to build the required prefabricated houses before the Spring Festival.
Liu Huazhong said that at present, the earthquake-stricken areas are shifting from temporary resettlement to transitional resettlement. The local area coordinates resources from all aspects, organizes the allocation of prefabricated houses, installers and machinery, overcomes difficulties such as high cold, oxygen deficiency, strong winds and sandy weather, works overtime to promote the construction of prefabricated houses, and strives to build the required prefabricated houses before the Spring Festival to ensure that all the affected people can spend the winter safely and warmly.
