Entering new state-owned enterprises|Explore the dance of "wind" and "light" on the northern border of the motherland
2025-05-14 source:CCTV.com

CCTV News (Reporter Meng Lizheng): Standing on a high platform at the GNGNP Gesang Photovoltaic Power Station in the heart of the Kubuqi Desert, rows of photovoltaic panels fluctuate with the height of the terrain, shining under the sunlight, stretching to the sky. Stepping onto the Nuclear Wind Farm in the Ulan Maodu Grassland, the white fan group stands on the top of the mountain, and the giant blades rotate slowly.

In late spring, CCTV.com reporters followed the "Going into New State-owned Enterprises, China General Nuclear Corporation, Green Mountains and Green Water Tour" event jointly organized by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission News Center of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and China General Nuclear Corporation to visit the China General Nuclear Corporation Kubuqi photovoltaic desert control project and nuclear master wind farm, and feel the surging "green" driving force of energy development.

Chasing "light"

"You see, there is the original landform of the photovoltaic base. Now this area has been basically managed." Liu Xinyuan, deputy director of the Gesang Photovoltaic Power Station of China General Nuclear Corporation New Energy, pointed to a sand dune in the distance and said.

Yellow sand and photovoltaic blue contrast each other, telling the story of photovoltaic sand control-China General Nuclear Kubuqi Photovoltaic Sand Control Project started construction in 2018, chasing "light" and planting "green" in the vast sand sea, and exploring a new model of gold production in the desert.

When the first ray of sunshine shines on the earth in the early morning, these "blue sunflowers" begin a day's "chasing light" action. Unlike traditional fixed photovoltaic panels, the flat single-axis tracking system equipped here allows each photovoltaic panel to face the sun at the best angle, greatly improving power generation efficiency. They absorb light energy and convert it into electricity, and then transport it continuously to thousands of households.

At present, the China General Nuclear Kubuqi photovoltaic desertification control project has built six photovoltaic power plants, Gesang, Bailu, Mingde, Shuofang, Zhuoyue and Jinfan, with a total installed capacity of 820,000 kilowatts and an annual power generation of about 1.5 billion kilowatt hours.

In addition, the power station adopts the "forest and light complementary" construction model to realize on-board power generation and under-board planting, which is conducive to ecological restoration and reduce soil erosion. At the same time, the power station has determined the rural revitalization industrial system of integrated photovoltaic sand control based on local actual characteristics, achieving a combination of "sand control, ecology, operation and maintenance", realizing the combination of "green" and "rich", and combining ecology and industry, driving surrounding farmers and herdsmen to continue to increase their income.

"At present, we have completed effective desertification area of 34,000 mu, and the vegetation coverage rate has jumped from less than 15% to 65%, making positive contributions to the improvement of local desertification environment and the construction of the national 'green northern Xinjiang'." Fan Baoquan, head of the Gesang Photovoltaic Power Station of China General Nuclear New Energy, said.

Chasing the Wind

On the Ulan-Maodu grassland, a "Wind" action is also underway.

"Our side is relatively high in altitude and is close to the air vent, and the annual average wind speed here is about 8 meters/second." Wang Zheming, head of the Nuclear Master Wind Farm of China General Nuclear Corporation Xing'an League Base Company, introduced.

The blessing of technology has enabled this "wind-for-wind" action to achieve more breakthroughs. In the monitoring room of CNKI Nuclear Power Farm, the numbers on the computer screen keep jumping, displaying the current wind speed, windmill operating status, etc. in real time. "Our fans are controlled by these equipment. You only need to 'click', then confirm and pay attention to the operating status. With the help of technology, the current staff of our unit kilowatts is about 0.4-0.5."

It is reported that the China General Nuclear Nuclear Power Project 3 million kilowatt revolutionary old area wind power project is one of the first batch of large-scale wind power photovoltaic base construction projects issued by the state to focus on the "Shagohuang" area. The project was completed and put into production in December 2023. It was the largest onshore wind power base in operation in my country at that time. It has a total of 701 wind turbines and an annual power generation of 10 billion kilowatt-hours.

At the same time, this project is also my country's first new energy project to be consumed through 800 kV ultra-high voltage DC transmission and consumption. It is equipped with the first 1,000 megawatt/500 kV three-phase integrated main transformer in my country's new energy industry, effectively driving upstream technological innovation in the industrial chain and setting a number of industry records in my country's new energy field.

To "Green"

The Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China proposed to "focus on building a beautiful China and accelerate the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development." As the lifeline of the national economy, we must further accelerate the adjustment of the energy structure and optimize the layout of the energy industry.

At present, CNN is actively building a high-end clean energy industrial cluster in Inner Mongolia, forming a large pattern of new energy industry assistance.

"CGN has introduced a number of manufacturing enterprises to settle in the Wind Power Equipment Manufacturing Innovation Demonstration Industrial Park of Xing'an League Economic and Technological Development Zone, and has realized the layout of the entire industrial chain of wind turbine manufacturing such as mainframes, blades, towers, etc., which is of great significance to improving the industrial structure of Xing'an League, promoting the accelerated rise of modern equipment manufacturing, and promoting the adjustment of strategic energy structure and the development of new energy industries. At present, the cumulative GDP exceeds 13.1 billion yuan, creating 600 million yuan in tax revenue, and more than 1,000 local jobs have been solved." Meng Yong, deputy general manager of China General Nuclear New Energy Inner Mongolia Company, said.

As a vivid practice of industrial collaboration, CNR has simultaneously promoted the construction of green and low-carbon projects in Alshan City. The project has put into operation of low-carbon transportation projects such as "coal to electricity" clean heating at the Arshan Port, such as low-carbon transportation projects such as new energy street lights, smart station signs and charging piles, and low-carbon construction projects such as the transformation of Bailang Linju Town to build a clean and low-carbon energy system. It is expected that the annual equivalent carbon dioxide emission reduction exceeds 3,000 tons, which will help Arshan become the first low-carbon energy characteristic town in the high-altitude area of northern my country, and provide a replicable solution for the transformation of border towns.

In the wave of the era of green energy transformation, a series of practices have allowed us to see the infinite "wind" and "light" of green energy.
