The blue book shows that as of now, my country has a total of 102 nuclear power units under operation, construction and approved construction, with an installed capacity of 113 million kilowatts, and the overall scale of nuclear power has jumped to the world's first for the first time.
At present, there are 28 nuclear power units under construction in my country, with a total installed capacity of 33.65 million kilowatts. The installed capacity of the under construction has remained the world's first for 18 consecutive years; my country's commercial nuclear power units have reached 58, with a total installed capacity of 60.96 million kilowatts.
In addition, my country's nuclear power generation continues to grow. In 2024, the cumulative power generation of nuclear power units operating nationwide reached 444.7 billion kilowatt-hours, accounting for 4.72% of the national power generation, ranking second in the world, equivalent to reducing the combustion of 127 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 334 million tons.
my country's independent innovation capabilities in nuclear power technology have also been significantly enhanced. In 2024, 100% domestic production of key main equipment for nuclear power will be achieved and the independent control of key component technology will be achieved. A total of 114 domestic main equipment for nuclear power will be delivered throughout the year, ensuring the smooth construction of Hualong No. 1, Guohe series, high-temperature gas-cooled reactors and other units. Cao Shudong said that the first reactor of the national major science and technology project "Guohe No. 1" demonstration project was completed and put into production. After the commercial operation of the high-temperature gas-cooled reactor demonstration project, all work has been steadily promoted. The million-kilowatt-level integrated closed-circulation fast reactor nuclear energy system is being promoted in an orderly manner. The research and development of key technologies is being carried out; "Linglong No. 1" is expected to be completed and put into production in 2026.
