CCTV News: On April 27, the Civil Aviation Administration held a press conference to introduce the civil aviation production safety situation in the first quarter and March, and the civil aviation transportation guarantee arrangements during the May Day holiday, etc.

Shang Kejia, deputy director of the Transportation Department of the Civil Aviation Administration, introduced at the meeting that the May Day holiday is the peak period for travel for tourism and leisure, visiting relatives and friends, and the civil aviation transportation market will maintain a steady growth trend. This year's May Day holiday will total 5 days. According to forecasts, the number of civil aviation passengers will be about 10.75 million, with an average daily average of 2.15 million, an increase of 8% year-on-year compared with 2024, setting a record high in the same period. The peak daily passenger flow at the beginning and end of the holiday is expected to exceed 2.3 million.

Domestic routes. The source of civil aviation passengers is mainly concentrated in the backbone routes between the four major urban agglomerations of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, the Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao and Chengdu. As of now, the number of passengers bookings between Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, as well as between Beijing, Shenzhen and Chengdu is the highest. In addition, the number of bookings for branch routes to tourist destinations such as Xishuangbanna, Lhasa, Lijiang, Kashgar, and Hotan is also relatively concentrated.

International routes. It is expected that the passenger transport volume and flight volume will reach its highest peak since the second quarter during the May Day holiday. Travel destinations are mainly concentrated in traditional tourism markets in Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia. At the same time, as the convenience policies for entry and transit visas continue to be optimized, service measures such as "buy and refund" for departure tax refunds are gradually promoted. It is expected that the number of incoming foreign passengers will continue to increase, driving foreign airlines to further increase flights.

In order to effectively ensure the civil aviation transportation guarantee during the May Day holiday, the Civil Aviation Administration organized analysis and judgment in advance, carefully arranged and deployed operations safety, capacity allocation, passenger service, etc., and made preparations for guarantees to ensure safe, convenient and warm travel for passengers.
