Today, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce answered reporters' questions about the domestic chip industry's reflection on the low price of imported mature process chips from the United States.
A reporter asked: There is news in the industry that China's domestic mature process chip industry is suffering from unfair competition from imported products from the United States, and there are demands to apply for an anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigation. Has the Ministry of Commerce received the relevant application? Can you tell us about the situation?
A: The domestic chip industry has reported that for some time, the Biden administration has provided a large amount of subsidies to the chip industry, and US companies have gained unfair competitive advantages and exported related mature process chip products at low prices to China, which has damaged the legitimate rights and interests of China's domestic industry. China's domestic industry concerns are normal and it is also entitled to apply for trade relief investigations.
I would like to emphasize here that for domestic industries, the investigative authority will review the application and demands of domestic industries in accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations and follow the rules of the WTO, and will initiate an investigation in accordance with the law.
