The Office of the National Medical Insurance Administration issued a notice today (16th) on promoting the reform of real-time settlement of basic medical insurance funds, clarifying the reform goals, and supporting it with the national unified medical insurance information platform. While doing a good job in prepayment of medical insurance funds, it fully considers the needs and capabilities of designated medical institutions. In 2025, about 80% of the national coordinated areas will basically achieve real-time settlement, and in 2026, all coordinated areas in the country will achieve real-time settlement.
The National Health Insurance Administration requires all localities to adhere to the combination of optimization of traditional settlement and innovative settlement methods, fully compress the process and duration, and reduce the original reduction from the day after the application deadline for designated medical institutions to the allocation of medical insurance funds to the 20 working days. We insist on combining fund prepayment with instant settlement, and increase the total amount of cash in pharmaceutical institutions through fund prepayment, and accelerate the cash flow rate of pharmaceutical institutions through instant settlement.
