On January 15, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun presided over a regular press conference. A reporter asked a question about the United States' decision to remove Cuba from the list of "supporting terrorists".
In this regard, Guo Jiakun said that the United States' inclusion of Cuba on the so-called "terrorism" list is groundless and is a brutal interference and trampling on Cuba's sovereignty and dignity, which has been strongly condemned and unanimously opposed by the vast majority of members of the international community, including China. At the same time, the United States' barbaric and inhumane blockade against Cuba for more than 60 years is still continuing, continuing to cause huge damage to Cuba's economy and people's livelihood, and bringing deep disasters to the Cuban people. Last year, Cuba's resolution submitted by the UN General Assembly to end the lockdown was passed for the 32nd consecutive year, and the international community continued to issue strong voices in support of Cuba's opposition to the blockade.
Guo Jiakun pointed out that China once again urges the United States to stand on the right side of history, stand on the side of the majority of the international community, completely lift the blockade and sanctions on Cuba as soon as possible, and stop creating obstacles to Cuba's economic and social development.
