Last year, the amount of RMB cross-border payments was approximately 64 trillion yuan, an increase of 23% year-on-year. In terms of reserve functions, more than 80 overseas central banks or monetary authorities have included the RMB in foreign exchange reserves. In the offshore RMB market, the balance of RMB deposits in Hong Kong exceeds 1,000 billion yuan and the balance of RMB loans is close to 700 billion yuan, both reaching a historically high level.

Xuan Changneng, Vice President of the People's Bank of China, said that in the future, the People's Bank of China will continue to make efforts in strengthening the coordination of domestic and foreign currencies and facilitating business entities to carry out cross-border financing activities in RMB, so as to create a better environment for domestic and foreign entities to hold and use RMB.
