It is reported that the platform is the first cross-border pharmaceutical regional procurement platform guided by the National Medical Security Administration to local construction. The construction of the platform will empower the high-level open development of Fangchenggang International Medical Open Pilot Zone and promote China's medicine to "go global".

The China-ASEAN pharmaceutical regional procurement platform is an information service platform that carries domestic and international pharmaceutical procurement services, realizing the full process management of drugs, medical consumables, etc. from centralized procurement to settlement. Liao Pinhu, Vice Chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, introduced that Guangxi has completed the construction of the China-ASEAN regional medical procurement platform, the online "Guangxi Medical Insurance Cloud Platform + N", and the China Medical Insurance Health Exhibition Hall with high quality, laying a solid foundation for carrying out centralized procurement work for ASEAN and other countries.

According to reports, relying on the China-ASEAN regional pharmaceutical procurement platform, Guangxi will actively promote the entry of domestic and medical consumables into ASEAN countries, and at the same time, it will innovatively establish convenient service channels for domestic and foreign drug purchases to gradually meet the real-time online drug purchase needs of insured persons in Guangxi, people who seek medical treatment outside the region outside the region, and cross-border medical treatment groups in ASEAN countries.

China is connected to ASEAN countries and has a blind date in culture. Shi Zihai, deputy director of the National Healthcare Security Administration, said at the launch ceremony that the official launch of this platform marks a substantial step in exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in the field of medical procurement, and will provide both sides with a broader space for cooperation in the field of medical procurement and make positive contributions to improving the health and well-being of the people of both sides.

The Fangchenggang International Medical Open Pilot Zone was announced at the first International Medical Innovation Cooperation Forum in May 2019.
