In 2024, the country has introduced policies to facilitate the travel between non-Chinese permanent residents of Hong Kong and Macao, implemented ten entry and exit policies and measures to support Fujian in the construction of a cross-strait integration development demonstration zone, expanded the scope of visa and issuance of talents who travel to Hong Kong and Macao, and innovatively implemented "nearest" and "intelligent" business visas to Macao, added 10 new "individual tours" visas to Macao, expanded and implemented "one tours to Macao" and other policies and measures to facilitate the people and benefit enterprises, effectively serving the overall work of Hong Kong and Macao.

Since January 1 this year, a total of 59,000 visas for "one week" travel to Macau have been issued, and more than 6,000 visas for "one visa and multiple trips" travel to Macau have been issued. The number of passenger flows to Hong Kong and Macao has increased significantly, and the "two-way" of residents in mainland China and Hong Kong and Macao have continued to heat up.

According to statistics, since December 1, 2024, Shenzhen residents have traveled to Hong Kong for 1.04 million, an increase of 22.3% year-on-year; from January 1 this year to the present, a total of 59,000 "one week" visas to Macau have been issued. Travel to Hong Kong and Macao has achieved "depart immediately and leave as soon as possible".
