The latest data shows that in 2024, my country's automobile production and sales reached 31.282 million and 31.436 million respectively, an increase of 3.7% and 4.5% year-on-year respectively. Among them, 5.859 million vehicles were exported, an increase of 19.3% year-on-year, further consolidating the world's largest automobile exporter.

Chen Shihua, deputy secretary-general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said that in 2024, the country introduced a series of combination policies, especially the policy of promoting old-for-new automobiles, which is very strong. Flexible and diverse consumption promotion activities have also been carried out at the local level, which has a very strong driving effect on automobile consumption. At the same time, China's pace of internationalization of the automobile industry has continued to maintain stable development, and the automobile export volume has reached a new level, providing global consumers with diversified consumption options.

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers stated that in 2025, my country will step up efforts to implement the "two new" policies, and automobile consumption will continue to release market potential with the policy combination effect. It is estimated that in 2025, my country's automobile sales are expected to be around 32.9 million vehicles.

New energy has led the lead for ten consecutive years, with production and sales exceeding 12 million vehicles

In the latest 2024 automobile industry data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the number of new energy vehicles produced and sold exceeded 12 million vehicles, ranking first in the world for ten consecutive years.

The latest data shows that in 2024, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 12.888 million and 12.866 million respectively, an increase of 34.4% and 35.5% year-on-year respectively. The sales of new energy vehicles reached 40.9% of the total sales of new automobiles, continuing to become an important growth point for China's automobile industry. At the same time, 1.284 million new energy vehicles were exported in 2024, an increase of 6.7% over the previous year, continuing to lead the world.

Chen Shihua said that the domestic sales of new energy passenger cars accounted for more than 50% of the domestic sales of passenger cars for seven consecutive months, and the domestic sales of new energy commercial vehicles accounted for more than 20% of the domestic sales of commercial vehicles for five consecutive months. In 2025, new energy vehicles will continue to grow at a relatively fast rate, and are expected to achieve sales of 16 million vehicles throughout the year.
