CCTV News (News Network): On January 13, the State Council Information Office held a series of press conferences on "The Effectiveness of China's High-Quality Economic Development". Relevant persons in charge of the General Administration of Customs introduced the operation of foreign trade throughout the year last year, and the scale of import and export of my country's goods trade reached a new high in 2024.
According to customs statistics, in 2024, my country's total import and export value of goods trade was 43.85 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5%. Among them, exports were 25.45 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.1%; imports were 18.39 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.3%.
Since the introduction of a package of incremental policies and measures to promote stable growth in foreign trade in September last year, it has effectively promoted foreign trade to achieve a quarterly historical high of 11.51 trillion yuan in the fourth quarter, with a growth rate of 0.4 percentage points higher than that in the third quarter. Especially in December, the scale of imports and exports exceeded 4 trillion yuan for the first time, with the growth rate increasing to 6.8%, and the foreign trade for the whole year was successfully concluded.
In 2024, my country's market diversification has steadily advanced. my country's total imports and exports to countries jointly built the "Belt and Road" were 22.07 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.4% year-on-year, accounting for 50.3% of my country's total import and export value. Among them, imports and exports to ASEAN were 6.99 trillion yuan, an increase of 9% year-on-year, and have been each other's largest trading partners for five consecutive years. During the same period, my country's imports and exports to the EU and the United States increased by 1.6% and 4.9% year-on-year respectively.
