The Department of Transportation of the Tibet Autonomous Region attached great importance to it and immediately arranged the district highway development and emergency support center to dispatch Shigatse and Ali highway maintenance departments and district high-level highway maintenance units as soon as possible to inspect and investigate the damage to national and provincial trunk roads within the earthquake impact range.
After preliminary investigation, at 23:30, no blockage was found on national and provincial trunk roads such as National Highways 318, 219, Provincial Highways 515, and 303. In view of the risk of aftershocks still occurring in the subsequent situation, in order to prevent secondary disasters, the autonomous region's highway maintenance unit plans to investigate the damage to highway infrastructure in the earthquake-affected areas again on January 14.
