The person in charge said that he will focus on improving the basin flood control engineering system, rainwater monitoring and forecasting system, water and drought disaster prevention work system, etc., and start and implement a series of water conservancy projects; and implement the responsibilities of all levels and links in the management of reservoirs, river channels, embankments, and flood storage and detention areas to further improve the water and drought disaster prevention capabilities.

Focusing on building the main skeleton artery of the national water network, promoting the high-quality development of the follow-up project of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, accelerating the construction of backbone transport and drainage channels of the national water network, and optimizing and improving the layout of the regional water network have become the focus of work in 2025. The relevant person in charge introduced that a number of provincial water network backbone projects will be started to build a coordinated and integrated development system for provincial, municipal and county water networks; at the same time, special actions to improve the rural water supply quality are implemented in depth to improve the rural water supply guarantee system.

In 2025, the Ministry of Water Resources plans to complete the task of recovering 88 mother rivers (lakes).
