CCTV News: China Small and Medium Enterprises Association released data on January 12. In the fourth quarter of 2024, China's Small and Medium Enterprises Development Index was 89.0, an increase of 0.1 point from the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the comprehensive operating index that reflects the overall operating conditions of enterprises, the market index that reflects the supply and demand conditions of enterprises in terms of orders, production, sales, and inventory were all up 0.1 points from the third quarter. From an industry perspective, the industry and social services performed the best.
Ma Bin, executive vice president of the China Small and Medium Enterprises Association, said that the industry and social services have improved in production, orders, sales, and costs, market demand has improved significantly, and the economic cycle has accelerated, which has driven the rise of the industry's prosperity.
A survey by the China Small and Medium Enterprises Association showed that in the fourth quarter, the development expectations of small and medium-sized enterprises were stable, market demand rebounded, and corporate efficiency and investment intention remained stable. Among the eight major industries, the cost index of five industries, namely industry, construction, real estate, wholesale and retail, and information transmission software industries, has declined, and the cost pressure on enterprises has been alleviated.
The data also shows that the operating rate of small and medium-sized enterprises increased in the fourth quarter, of which 39.4% of enterprises started fully, up 6.7 percentage points from the third quarter, and 14.7% of enterprises with operating rate between 75% and 100%, up 1.1 percentage points from the third quarter.
