On January 12, the National Health Commission held a press conference to introduce the relevant situation of respiratory disease prevention and control.
The positive rate of influenza viruses in outpatient and emergency influenza-like cases nationwide is lower than the same period last year
Hu Qiangqiang, spokesperson of the National Health Commission, introduced that the recent national sentinel monitoring of acute respiratory infectious diseases released by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention shows that the influenza virus positivity in the first week of 2025 is in a seasonal epidemic period, and the positive rate of influenza viruses in outpatient and emergency influenza-like cases nationwide has increased by 3.8% compared with last week, lower than the same period last year. It is expected that the level of influenza activity in the middle and late months may gradually decline, and the level of influenza activity varies between different provinces.
In order to better meet the medical needs of the people, the National Health Commission guides all localities to coordinate medical resources, expand the supply of medical services, optimize service processes, and work with relevant departments to ensure drug reserves and supply guarantees. There is no obvious shortage of medical resources at present, and the production, supply and inventory of relevant key drugs are generally normal.
National Health Commission: Influenza has not exceeded the level of the previous epidemic season recently
Gao Xinqiang, deputy director of the Medical Emergency Department of the National Health Commission, said at a press conference held by the National Health Commission on January 12 that monitoring shows that it has been in a relatively high incidence of influenza recently, but it has not exceeded the level of the previous epidemic season. The number of fever clinics and emergency patients nationwide showed a certain upward trend, generally lower than the same period last year, and there was no obvious shortage of medical resources.
China Center for Disease Control and Prevention: All are known pathogens and no new infectious diseases have appeared
Wang Liping, a researcher at the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, introduced that it is the current season for the high incidence of respiratory infectious diseases, and various pathogens may cause respiratory infectious diseases. Monitoring shows that influenza is the main disease that causes patients with acute respiratory infections in medical institutions to visit.
Monitoring data shows that influenza has been in a seasonal epidemic recently, and the epidemic intensity in most provinces is at a moderate level. At present, the upward trend of influenza positivity rate has slowed down. As primary and secondary schools in various places have successively started holidays, it is expected that the level of influenza activity may decline in mid-to-late this month.
Human metapneumovirus is not a new virus. It has been with humans for at least decades. Due to the development of detection methods, more and more related reports have been reported in recent years. At present, the positive rate of human metapneumovirus testing is in a platform fluctuation, with the positive rate in northern provinces declining, and the positive rate among cases aged 14 and below begins to decline. The positive rate of respiratory syncytial virus fluctuates and increases in the age group of 0-4 years. The positive rates of rhinovirus, Mycoplasma pneumoniae and adenovirus tests are showing a downward trend. Other respiratory pathogens such as the novel coronavirus are at a low prevalence level. Overall, this winter and spring will still show an alternating or superimposed epidemic trend, but they are all known pathogens and no new infectious diseases have appeared. The overall epidemic intensity and medical pressure will not be higher than last year.
Chinese Disease Control Expert: Vaccines and antiviral drugs are effective for the current influenza A
Wang Liping, a researcher at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said on January 12 that the results of influenza monitoring in my country show that the advantageous strain of the current influenza epidemic is the type A H1N1 subtype. The National Influenza Center of China conducted antigenic analysis on the recently isolated influenza A H1N1 virus, which indicated that it matched well with the influenza vaccine strain and was effective in vaccination; drug resistance analysis suggested that the currently prevalent influenza virus is sensitive to antiviral drugs and drug treatment is effective.
At a press conference held by the National Health Commission that day, Wang Liping suggested that people who have not received the flu vaccine can still be vaccinated.
Anti-flu drugs are prescription drugs. It is not recommended to use them yourself.
Xu Baoping, chief physician of Beijing Children's Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University, introduced that anti-flu drugs are prescription drugs. If you suspect that you have influenza, you should go to the hospital in time. Use drugs according to the doctor's prescription. Early use of antiviral drugs can effectively inhibit the replication and spread of the virus, effectively shorten the duration and course of the influenza, and effectively prevent influenza complications and severe diseases. But it is not recommended to use prescription medication yourself.
Respiratory infections in children are mainly viral infections, and most of them do not have specific antiviral treatments, mainly symptomatic treatments. Commonly used drugs include antipyretic drugs, expectorants and some Chinese patent medicines that have the effect of clearing heat and detoxifying. The recommended antipyretic drugs for children are acetaminophen and ibuprofen. It is emphasized that children should use antitussive drugs with caution unless it is a severe dry cough that affects the child's rest and sleep. It is recommended that parents observe whether their children have coughing sputum. Once it occurs, they should stop using antitussive drugs in time and change to expectorants.
When using medicine for children, be sure to read the instructions, precautions, and whether you can eat them with food. Pay attention to the issue of accurate dosage of medication. Children's medication is calculated based on age and weight and cannot be taken in excess. Some children have high fever and parents are anxious. Some people use antipyretic drugs to their children. Increasing the dose of the drug will lead to increased adverse reactions. Do not increase the dose or take the drug at will.
