The People's Bank of China stated that in terms of innovating the institutional guarantee of green financial products, it is necessary to accelerate the improvement of supporting policies such as environmental rights registration, guarantee, and evaluation. Financial institutions should strengthen analysis and research on key green industries, actively explore and innovate, continuously enrich the green financial product spectrum, actively connect with the list of key projects for the construction of a beautiful China, and provide financing and intelligent services according to the principles of marketization and rule of law. In addition, while promoting the steady growth of green finance scale, we must pay attention to the effectiveness of green finance in supporting environmental benefits improvement and industrial transformation and upgrading.
The latest data shows that as of the end of the third quarter of 2024, my country's green loan balance was 35.75 trillion yuan, an increase of 25.1% year-on-year; carbon emission reduction support tools encourage financial institutions to issue carbon emission reduction loans of more than 1.2 trillion yuan, driving nearly 200 million tons of carbon emission reduction.
