CCTV News: On January 9, the Information Office of the People's Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region held a press conference to introduce the latest progress in the 6.8-magnitude earthquake rescue work in Dingri County, Shigatse. According to reports, at present, a total of 224 resettlement sites have been set up in the disaster area, and 47,500 affected people have completed preliminary resettlement and basic living has been guaranteed.
As of now, 12,730 tents have been built in the disaster area, and a total of more than 612,000 pieces of cotton tents, folding beds, blankets, heaters, food, medicines and other materials have been urgently transported. With the support of the state and all sectors of society, the supply of disaster relief materials is basically sufficient and the basic lives of the people can be guaranteed.
