Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, January 8 (Reporter Ye Haoming) The reporter learned from the Ministry of Transport on the 8th that as of 6:00 on that day, seven damaged national and provincial road sections (three roadbed collapses on Line G219, three rockfall collapses on Line G318, and one landslide collapse on Line S516) in the Tibet Autonomous Region have been opened, achieving double-span access.

According to a relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Transport, currently, there are 4 bridges, 23 middle bridges and 37 small bridges on Dingri County, Shigatse City. The bridge deck remains in normal traffic. Rural roads have been damaged to varying degrees, including 7 in Dingri County (except for the West Line, X222, C071, C017, C070, C018, and Y018), 2 in Lazi County (1 from the county town to Mangpu, Mangpu to Qiugu), and 1 in Dingjie County (1 in Guojia Township). The damaged roads have been opened, which can ensure the normal passage of emergency rescue vehicles and construction machinery such as trucks and buses.

The person in charge said that the autonomous region's transportation department has formulated emergency plans for damaged transportation infrastructure and arranged for all efforts to repair it. The Autonomous Region Department of Transportation launched a first-level emergency response to highway traffic emergencies, deploying 526 people to ensure traffic and 474 emergency rescue equipment (sets) along the G4218, G318, G216, G219, S303, S517 and other highways, and conducting patrols and emergency protection operations for 24 hours. 53 trucks and 18 buses were sent to the disaster area to transport disaster relief materials and personnel, and 62 trucks and 75 buses were stored on time. The National Regional Highway Traffic Emergency Equipment and Materials Lhasa Reserve Center entered a standby state.

It is understood that after the earthquake, the Ministry of Transport quickly established a special team for earthquake relief and disaster relief to strengthen dispatching, command and organizational support; sent an on-site expert guidance group composed of experts such as bridges, roadbeds, road surfaces, and geology to go to the scene to guide the road opening and maintenance of highways in the earthquake zone and the post-disaster reconstruction work; urgently arrange highway emergency emergency transportation funds to support Tibet to do a good job in emergency rescue and disaster relief and emergency maintenance; dispatch transportation authorities and central enterprises in the surrounding provinces, pre-local emergency response forces such as emergency rescue and disaster relief machinery and equipment, personnel and materials, and prepare for assistance to the earthquake zone at any time.

"The Ministry of Transport will closely monitor the post-earthquake transportation situation and continue to strengthen dispatch and guarantees." The person in charge said.
