CCTV News: What are the new characteristics of this year's Spring Festival travel rush? Let’s take a look at the situation introduced at the press conference of the State Council Information Office on the afternoon of January 8.

According to the transportation department and other aspects, the cross-regional personnel flow in the whole society during the Spring Festival travel rush this year will reach 9 billion people, and the passenger volume of railway and civil aviation is expected to exceed 510 million people and 90 million people respectively, both setting record highs. Judging from the travel structure, self-driving travel will remain the dominant position, with an estimated 7.2 billion people, accounting for nearly 80% of the cross-regional personnel flow in the whole society. The daily peak of expressway traffic may hit a record high. This year's Spring Festival is earlier than in previous years. There will be a superposition of four types of passenger flows: students, working, visiting relatives and tourism around the Spring Festival, with a high concentration. Urban agglomerations such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao, Chengdu-Chongqing are still areas with the main concentrated passenger flow.

The railway adopts the addition of temporary passenger trains and night high-speed rails to deeply tap the potential for increased transportation, while ensuring the public welfare "slow trains" in remote areas. It is expected that more than 14,000 passenger trains will be arranged every day during the Spring Festival travel rush, and the passenger capacity will increase by about 4% year-on-year.

Civil aviation has increased the supply of capacity for popular airports and hot-spot routes, with an average daily flight schedule of about 18,500 flights, an increase of 8.4% year-on-year. Highways play an important role in "bottom-up" guarantee and dynamically allocate passenger bus lines. Waterways have increased the deployment of capacity to key routes such as Qiongzhou Strait.
