On February 18, a tour group from Laos and Thailand arrived at the Mohan Port on the China-Laos border. It took less than 10 minutes before the Mohan Entry and Exit Border Inspection Station completed the entry procedures for it. Since then, the first ASEAN country visa-free tour group has begun their trip to China.

According to statistics from Mohan Border Inspection Station,
In 2024, the Mohan Port (including Mohan Railway and Highway Port) inspected and released more than 730,000 people from 10 ASEAN countries, accounting for more than 30% of the total number of people entering and leaving the country, an increase of 55% year-on-year;
More than 5,200 inbound and outbound tourism groups from 10 ASEAN countries inspected and released more than 65,000 people from 5,200 inbound and outbound tourism groups from 10 ASEAN countries, an increase of 108% and 44% year-on-year respectively, and has become the largest national-level land port for the 10 ASEAN countries entering and leaving Yunnan Province.

On February 10, the State Immigration Administration issued an announcement: From now on, the visa-free policy for ASEAN countries to enter Xishuangbanna, Yunnan will be implemented. Tour groups (2 people and more) from 10 ASEAN countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, etc., will be organized and received by travel agencies in my country with ordinary passports. They can enter and exit the entire tour without visa at the Xishuangbanna Gasha International Airport Port, Mohan Railway Port, and Mohan Highway Port. The scope of activities is the administrative area of Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province, and the stay time is not more than 6 days.
