On the 18th, it was learned from the ninth meeting of the 10th National Committee of the China Association for Science and Technology that in 2024, my country has made progress in the fields of scientific and technological talent training, scientific journal construction, scientific and technological literacy construction of citizens, international private science and technology exchanges, and standardized academic group governance.

In terms of scientific and technological talents, with the focus on stimulating high-level confidence in scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement, the China Association for Science and Technology held a total of 71 national conditions training activities in 2024, and trained more than 4,400 leading talents; vigorously supported young talents, and 180 national societies participated in the entrustment of 3,226 outstanding doctoral students from "Double First-Class" universities.

In terms of scientific and technological journal construction, the China Association for Science and Technology took the lead in implementing the Excellence Action Plan for Science and Technology Journals, and has supported nearly 300 scientific and technological journals to enter the top ranks in the past five years. The journals with international influence ranked among the top 5% of this discipline have increased by 6 times compared with 2018.

In terms of the construction of scientific literacy among citizens, in 2024, the proportion of scientific literacy among Chinese citizens in my country has achieved the "14th Five-Year Plan" ahead of schedule; 1,127 science and technology museums, 749 mobile science and technology museums, and 1,418 science popularization caravans across the country received nearly 150 million visitors throughout the year; the "Science Popularization China" flagship platform has spread more than 195.8 billion people in total; more than 200,000 activities were carried out in the National Science Popularization Day, and more than 5 million science and technology workers across the country carried out volunteer services for "benefiting the people and developing the county".

In terms of promoting international private science and technology exchanges, the China Association for Science and Technology has consolidated and expanded the international science and technology "circle of friends" and established 17 international science and technology organizations in the past three years; it has entered the fields of popular science education cooperation, mutual recognition of international engineers, agricultural technology promotion, and youth science and technology innovation activities, strengthened counterpart cooperation with key countries to promote people-to-people communication; it has continuously created four home platforms such as the World Science and Technology and Development Forum and the World New Energy Vehicle Conference, and various societies have held thousands of international conferences in China; the Science and Technology Association system has more than 2,000 experts serving in international organizations.

In terms of helping the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation, the China Association for Science and Technology established more than 6,000 new enterprises (parks) and other grassroots organizations throughout the year; organized more than 20,000 societies and tens of thousands of experts in the entire system, relying on the "Science and Innovation China" platform, science and technology courtyard, etc., to serve the main battlefield of the economy and cultivate new quality productivity; relevant societies carried out large-span strategic consultations, condensed and released major scientific and technological and engineering issues, put forward 10,138 high-quality consulting suggestions, and the National Society issued more than 1,300 new group standards throughout the year to effectively serve scientific decision-making.

In terms of standardizing the governance of academic groups, the China Association for Science and Technology has strengthened the rectification of work style and discipline, issued warnings to 9 societies in accordance with regulations and revoked group membership; cleaned up and standardized evaluation and commendation, reformed the way of holding academic conferences and science and technology competitions, and vigorously reduced activities with no substantive significance. Compared with 5 years ago, the evaluation and commendation items were reduced from 21 to 3, and the forums hosted and co-sponsored by 63 to 10.
