The reporter learned from the National Railway Administration that since this year, thanks to the Spring Festival holiday, the demand for returning home to visit relatives and leisure and vacation has been released, and the number of railway passengers has continued to rise. In January, the national railway passenger volume reached 369 million, an increase of 12.1% year-on-year, of which the number of passengers for EMUs increased by 10.6% year-on-year to 275 million, accounting for 74.6% of the national railway passenger volume. The national railway passenger turnover reached 144.617 billion man-kilometers, an increase of 17.6% year-on-year, of which the passenger turnover of EMU was 97.10 billion man-kilometers, an increase of 18.9% year-on-year.

In January, the national railway freight transmission volume was 423 million tons and the freight turnover was 288.472 billion tons and kilometers. Among them, the national railway freight transmission volume was 327 million tons and the freight turnover was 266.489 billion tons and kilometers. Judging from the transportation situation by category, containers and metal ore were sent 77 million tons and 48 million tons respectively, an increase of 10.9% and 17.5% year-on-year respectively.
