The "Action Plan on Increased Silver-Haid Tourism Trains and Promoting the Development of Service Consumption" recently issued by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the China Railway Group, was announced on February 11, and 12 specific measures were proposed to increase the supply of Silver-Haid Tourism Trains, strengthen the guarantee of elderly-friendly facilities, improve the service level of Silver-Haid Tourism Trains, and optimize the development environment of Silver-Haid Tourism Trains.
The China Railway Group plans to complete the design of more than 100 railway silver-haired tourism boutique routes by 2027, and create 160 sets of silver-haired tourism trains for the elderly-friendly special sets, and the scale of silver-haired tourism trains will reach more than 2,500. In accordance with the goal of "one province, one column", a number of high-quality railway silver-haired tourism routes will be launched.
According to this action plan, these trains will not only carry out comprehensive aging-friendly transformation of hardware facilities such as seats and toilets, but will also be equipped with medical and elderly care service personnel.
At a special press conference held by the Ministry of Commerce and relevant units on the 11th, Man Hongwei, director of the Resource Development Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, said that he would guide local governments to launch more elderly tourism routes, connect more tourist attractions that show the natural and cultural characteristics of various places, and enhance the attractiveness of silver-haired tourism train products.
