CCTV News: On February 17, the spring new semester of primary and secondary schools in Beijing started. The Beijing Municipal Education Commission and Beijing Municipal Sports Bureau jointly issued the "Several Measures to Further Strengthen the Physical Education Work in Primary and Secondary Schools in the New Era", namely the "Eight Regulations on Sports" in Beijing Primary and Secondary Schools, aiming to accelerate the filling of shortcomings in school sports work and students' physical health, and effectively improve students' physical and mental health.

The "Eight Regulations on Sports" in Beijing's primary and secondary schools highlight the improvement of campus sports time and quality, and clearly state that one physical education class is held every day in primary and junior high schools; 3-5 physical education classes per week in high schools, and no less than 45 minutes of physical exercise should be arranged on the day without physical education classes. During the implementation of physical education classes, it is clear that "preaching classes" and "no sweating" physical education classes will be eliminated. Schools shall not squeeze out physical education classes in any form and eliminate the "yin and yang class schedule".

In terms of course content settings, primary and junior high schools should include at least one of the "three major balls" in the compulsory content of physical education courses, and high schools should offer the "three major balls" module teaching. Actively organize primary and secondary school students to carry out popularization and promotion activities for ice and snow sports. Schools with specialized ice and snow sports should include ice and snow content in physical education courses for teaching.

In addition, for the first time, a "class competition" with all members and full participation in the entire process will be fully deployed in primary and secondary schools in Beijing. It is required to organize class leagues every semester, with no less than 5 games for each primary school class, no less than 4 games for junior high school, and no less than 3 games for high school. Among them, at least one "three major ball" class match will be organized.

In the training and team building of physical education teachers, the "Eight Sports Regulations" also put forward specific requirements. Among them, it is clearly stated that the physical education teacher training improvement plan will be implemented. By the end of 2027, all districts will train physical education teachers in rotation.

Deeply promote the integration mechanism of sports and education, regularly arrange sports school coaches and outstanding retired athletes to enter the school, and guide students to carry out special training at least once a week. Each district should organize at least 10 "Champions to Campus" activities every year.

In order to increase the activity venue, social sports venues and facilities around the school are encouraged to be open to schools for free, serve schools to carry out sports meetings, sports exams and other activities, and optimize the allocation and efficient use of sports resources. Support schools to sign agreements with social sports venues such as communities, parks, universities and other social sports venues to establish a sharing mechanism.
