Experts from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention introduced that China is still in a seasonal epidemic period of influenza, but the epidemic intensity generally shows a downward trend.

Peng Zhibin, a researcher at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said: "There are actually differences in influenza activity levels in northern and southern provinces. The monitoring results in the sixth week of this year indicate that the southern level is higher than that in the north. The positive rates of other pathogens, such as Mycoplasma pneumoniae and other respiratory viruses that everyone is more concerned about in the early stage, are showing a continuous decline."

At the press conference, experts also introduced that some people are prone to sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes when they arrive in spring, and some are also symptoms of coughing and chest tightness. Most of these may be caused by pollen allergies. For patients with clear pollen allergies, such as allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, and allergic asthma, drug prevention and other response measures can be taken in advance.

Ma Yanliang, chief physician of Peking University People's Hospital, said: "It is generally recommended to start using it before the spring pollen season at least 2-4 weeks. Generally, in mid-March, the pollen concentration begins to gradually increase, and now you should start preparing preventive medication."

Spring is also the peak period for gastroenteroscopy. Experts say that gastroenteroscopy is not something that everyone needs to do in clinical practice. It is usually recommended that the following three types of people be able to do it.

Li Jingnan, chief physician of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, said: "The first major situation is that gastrointestinal symptoms or long-term abdominal pain, bloating or weight loss due to unknown reasons. At this time, gastroenteroscope may be required. In addition, some cases have difficulty swallowing or indigestion, and they always feel uncomfortable after eating, including repeated acid reflux and heartburn. These conditions suggest that there may be stomach diseases. When the patient has symptoms such as changing stool habits, constipation or diarrhea, bloody or black stools, these conditions indicate that there may be intestinal diseases."

The second category is people over 40 years old. Even if there are no discomfort symptoms, it is recommended to have a gastroenteroscopy to detect early lesions such as colon polyps in a timely manner. The third category is high-risk groups, such as those in the family with a history of gastrointestinal polyps or cancer.
