February 17 is the first day of school. It is expected that the morning rush hour will be half an hour ahead of the start of school. The pressure will rise rapidly around 7:30, and the traffic pressure will be concentrated from 7:45 to 8:15. The peak of the morning rush hour traffic index will be around 7.6. After 9:00, the overall traffic pressure will be rapidly relieved. The traffic pressure will be generally not large at night rush hour. It will reach a peak of around 7.0 from 18:00 to 18:30, and the overall pressure level will be lower than the autumn school day.
During the morning and evening rush hour, traffic pressure will be concentrated during peak hours around the core areas of Dongcheng and Xicheng, Chaoyang District and Haidian District; the main ring roads in the urban area, Xizhimen North Street, Deshengmen Wai Street, Tonghui Hebei Road, Caihuying South Road, Xueyu Road, Lianshi East Road, Wanquanhe Road, Heiquan Road and other highway traffic flows will show obvious tidal characteristics such as Beijing-Tibet, Beijing-Chengdu, Beijing-Kai, Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao, and Beijing-Tong Express.
The Beijing Municipal Transportation Department will continue to conduct traffic forecasts and judgments, and release travel prompts and forecast warning information in advance. It is recommended that citizens check travel information in advance, plan travel routes reasonably, try to avoid peak hours and congested roads, travel staggered peaks, and give priority to green travel and public transportation.
