According to statistics from Hengqin Border Inspection Station, on February 14, there were more than 9,100 inbound and outbound vehicles through Hengqin Port, of which 4,400 outbound vehicles and more than 4,700 inbound vehicles, all setting a record high. In addition, the number of single-licensed vehicles in Macau exceeded 6,100, accounting for 66.5% of the total traffic on that day, setting a record high.
Since 2024, with the full opening of 30 "joint one-stop" vehicle inspection channels at Hengqin Port and the inspection and release hall for personnel on board, Qin and Australia's "hard connectivity" facilities have become increasingly perfect, and the vision of "Qin and Australia's same city" is moving towards reality. A young entrepreneur in Macau drove a vehicle to Hengqin to negotiate. Macau residents who settled in Hengqin drove to Macau to work. On weekends, they drove a single-licensed car to Hengqin to visit friends, dinners, and camping, etc., which are becoming a new trend for Macau residents. As the only designated port for single-licensed vehicles in Macau, the number of vehicles passing through the Hengqin Port is intuitively reflecting the pace of "Qin and Macau in the same city". Data from Hengqin border inspection station shows that the average daily traffic at Hengqin Port in 2023 and 2024 was 5,200 and 6,500 respectively. Since 2025, the average daily traffic at Hengqin Port has reached 8,000, an increase of 22.2% year-on-year, of which single-licensed vehicles in Macau account for two-thirds of the total traffic.
In order to properly respond to the peak of passenger traffic, Hengqin Border Inspection Station strengthens on-site traffic monitoring and scientifically sets up the number of on-site passenger and truck passages; increases police force investment, strengthens on-site guidance, and opens full-time vehicle inspection channels in advance; closely communicates and cooperates with Qin'ao port management departments, inspection units and other departments to steadily guide peak traffic, and effectively ensure smooth and orderly customs clearance at the port.
