CCTV News: The Chinese Consulate General in Luang Prabang announced on February 14 that at around 10 a.m. local time on February 14, a Chinese shop ignited in Mengsai County, Udomsai Province, Laos, causing four deaths, including Chinese citizens. After fire rescue, the fire has been controlled and the injured have been sent to the hospital. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
The Chinese embassy and consulate in Laos immediately launched an emergency response mechanism, and the ambassador to Laos Fang Hong deployed all efforts to treat the wounded and assist the family in properly handling the aftermath. Consul General in Luang Prabang Zhang Sheping has led the Consulate General working group to the local area for emergency treatment and provide consular protection and assistance.
