On January 17, Zhang Tianfeng, former deputy director of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration, was investigated for suspected violations of discipline and law. On January 23, Qi Zara, member of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and deputy director of the Agriculture and Rural Committee, was investigated for suspected serious violations of discipline and law.

As the beginning of 2025, the information on "fighting tigers" was released intensively, showing the strong determination to comprehensively and strictly govern the party, and imprinting a powerful footnote to "anti-corruption is the most thorough self-revolution."

Without the spirit of thorough self-revolution, how can there be the confidence and determination to firmly fight against all factors that damage the Party’s advanced nature and purity? Without the revolutionary forging of comprehensive and strict governance of the Party, how could there be such a highly united, strong and powerful Communist Party of China today?

At the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, General Secretary Xi Jinping focused on realizing the Party’s mission and tasks in the new era and new journey, and made strategic arrangements for deepening the comprehensive and strict governance of the Party, and put forward the latest requirements for the integrated promotion of not daring to be corrupt, not being able to be corrupt, and not wanting to be corrupt. "Maintain strategic determination and high-pressure situation", "Don't stop at one step and never give in", "Always adhere to zero tolerance", "Adhere to the ironwork must be strong by oneself"... The key to doing things well in China lies in the Party and the key is to comprehensively and strictly govern the Party. By insisting on governing the Party with the spirit of reform and strict standards, ensuring that the whole Party maintains a high degree of unity with the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as its core in terms of ideology, politics and actions, and always maintaining the Party’s strong creativity, cohesion and combat effectiveness, we can overcome all risks and challenges on the road ahead.

Preserving the authority and centralized and unified leadership of the Party Central Committee cannot be kept verbally, but must be implemented in actions. Only by making the ideas and measures of comprehensive and strict governance of the Party more scientific, stricter and more effective can the Party never deteriorate, change its color or taste.

After being tempered by the practice furnace, our party has become more and more profound in understanding the laws of the anti-corruption struggle, the anti-corruption mechanism is becoming more and more perfect, and the measures are becoming more and more accurate. Unhealthy practices and corruption are both external and internal, and have the same roots and origins. Only cure corruption but not rectify the practice, and the soil for corruption is still there.
