The sales volume of digital products such as automobiles, home appliances, and mobile phones reached 8.6 million units (sets), and the sales volume exceeded 31 billion yuan, effectively improving the vitality of the consumer market.
On January 8, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance issued a notice to step up efforts to expand the implementation of the "two new" policies, and made overall deployment of the "two new" work in 2025; the first batch of 81 billion yuan of ultra-long-term special treasury bond funds were issued as soon as possible to support local governments to speed up the launch of old-for-new work in various fields. The Ministry of Commerce and other departments promptly issued detailed implementation rules for renewal and renewal in areas such as automobiles, home appliances, mobile phones, and home improvement consumer goods. Before the Spring Festival holiday, 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government launched the exchange of old consumer goods to achieve policy connection and funding continuation.
Driven by the increased expansion of the "two new" policies, consumers are enthusiastic about participating in renewal and renewal. According to preliminary review, the sales of old-for-new sales in Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Henan, Hubei, Guangdong, etc. all exceeded 1.5 billion yuan, ranking among the top in the country. Data from the State Administration of Taxation shows that during the Spring Festival holiday, the national appliance and mobile phone sales revenue increased by 166% and 182% year-on-year respectively, of which the TV sales revenue increased by 227% year-on-year. The number of searches for consumer goods traded in the Spring Festival holiday on major e-commerce platforms exceeded 40 million, and the order volume increased by more than 40% year-on-year.
The new subsidies for purchasing digital products such as mobile phones are a highlight of the increased efforts of the "two new" policies this year. During the Spring Festival holiday, consumers' enthusiasm for "going away from old phones and welcoming new phones" was ignited, and mobile phones became the main force in the new trend of this year's Spring Festival. According to preliminary review, the sales volume of mobile phones and other digital products nationwide exceeded 4.5 million units during the Spring Festival holiday, accounting for 45% of the total sales of consumer goods for old-for-new products. Data from relevant e-commerce platforms show that among digital products such as home appliances and mobile phones that participate in the exchange-income subsidy during the Spring Festival holiday, mobile phone sales account for nearly 70%.
