CCTV News: The Ministry of Education recently announced the list of counties (cities, districts) that popularize preschool education in 2024. In accordance with the requirements of the "Several Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Deepening Reform and Standardizing the Development of Preschool Education" and the "Measures for Supervision and Evaluation of Preschool Education in County", through the procedures of county-level self-evaluation, municipal preliminary review, provincial assessment, and national certification, 301 counties (cities, districts) including Tianjin Binhai New District will be recognized as preschool education popularization and universal counties in 2024. Among them, six cities (prefectures) including Huzhou City and Quzhou City in Zhejiang Province, Qingdao City and Dongying City in Shandong Province, Xiamen City in Fujian Province, and Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have passed the national assessment and certification throughout the region.
All localities should focus on the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating socialist builders and successors who are comprehensively developed in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor, strengthen the Party’s overall leadership over preschool education, firmly grasp the basic direction of public welfare and universal welfare, conscientiously implement the statutory requirements of government-oriented and vigorously develop universal preschool education, and improve the universal guarantee mechanism for preschool education. We must thoroughly analyze the new challenges and requirements for education raised by changes in the population size and structure of preschool, coordinate the short-term and medium-term, optimize the stock and reasonably adjust variables, distinguish priorities, strengthen forward-looking layout, and establish a basic public education service supply mechanism that coordinates the population changes in preschool. We must further strengthen the quality awareness of pre-education, insist on strengthening connotation construction, guide kindergartens to adhere to the combination of childcare and education, implement games as the basic activities, create a rich educational environment, support children to actively explore and learn, promote children to grow up healthy and happy in games and life, and continuously improve the quality of scientific education and people's satisfaction.
