CCTV News: According to the Beijing Investigation Team of the National Bureau of Statistics, in January 2025, Beijing's consumer prices rose by 1.2% month-on-month. Among them, food prices rose by 1.6%, non-food prices rose by 1.1%; consumer goods prices rose by 0.6%, and service prices rose by 1.8%.
In January, Beijing's consumer prices rose by 0.3% year-on-year. Among them, food prices fell by 1.7%, non-food prices rose by 0.6%; consumer goods prices fell by 0.6%, and service prices rose by 1.3%.
Momentum-on-month changes in the prices of various goods and services
In January, the prices of food, tobacco and alcohol rose by 1.0% month-on-month, affecting the increase of the total index by about 0.22 percentage points. Among foods, the price of fresh vegetables rose by 11.4%, affecting the total index by about 0.20 percentage points; the price of fresh fruits rose by 4.2%, affecting the total index by about 0.10 percentage points; the price of aquatic products rose by 0.7%, affecting the total index by about 0.01 percentage points; the price of eggs rose by 0.6%; the price of livestock and meat fell by 0.4%, affecting the total index by about 0.01 percentage points, among which pork prices rose by 0.1%.
The other seven categories of prices rose four times and fell two times and remained unchanged month-on-month. Among them, the prices of transportation, communications, education, culture and entertainment, daily necessities and services, and other goods and services rose by 5.1%, 2.5%, 1.3% and 1.1% respectively; the prices of clothing and health care fell by 0.4% and 0.2% respectively; the prices of residence remained the same.
Year-on-year changes in the prices of various goods and services
In January, the prices of food, tobacco and alcohol fell by 1.1% year-on-year, affecting the decline of the total index by about 0.25 percentage points. Among foods, the price of dairy fell by 3.6%, affecting the total index by about 0.05 percentage points; the price of fresh fruit fell by 1.2%, affecting the total index by about 0.03 percentage points; the price of eggs fell by 0.4%; the price of fresh vegetables rose by 0.7%, affecting the total index by about 0.01 percentage points; the price of livestock and meat rose by 0.3%, affecting the total index by about 0.01 percentage points, of which pork prices rose by 12.5%, affecting the total index by about 0.08 percentage points.
The prices in the other seven categories rose by five and fell by two year-on-year. Among them, the prices of other supplies and services, transportation and communications, education, culture and entertainment, clothing and housing rose by 7.7%, 2.2%, 0.7%, 0.2% and 0.2% respectively; the prices of daily necessities, services and medical care fell by 0.8%.
