CCTV News: According to the Beijing Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics, in January, the market supply was generally sufficient. Affected by the festival effect, residents' consumption demand continued to increase, driving the prices of some food and services to rise. The consumer prices of our city both turned from decline to increase month-on-month and year-on-year.
From the month-on-month perspective, CPI turned from a decrease of 0.1% last month to a rise of 1.2%. Among them, food prices turned from a decrease of 0.6% last month to a rise of 1.6%, affecting the CPI increase by about 0.23 percentage points. In food, due to factors such as cooling weather and the Spring Festival, the prices of fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, eggs and pork all turned from a decline last month to an increase, up 11.4%, 4.2%, 0.8% and 0.1% month-on-month respectively. Non-food prices turned from flat last month to rising 1.1%, affecting the CPI rise by about 0.93 percentage points. Among non-foods, service prices turned from flat last month to rising 1.8%, among which, residents' travel demand increased, air tickets and travel agencies' charges rose by 54.2% and 11.6%, respectively, an increase of 49.4 and 9.8 percentage points from the previous month, and the price of outdoor accommodation increased by 1.2%. Affected by fluctuations in international commodity prices, gasoline and diesel prices rose by 2.5% and 2.7%, respectively, and gold jewelry prices rose by 2.7%.
From the year-on-year perspective, CPI turned from a decrease of 0.4% last month to a rise of 0.3%. Among them, food prices fell by 1.7%, a decrease of 1.3 percentage points from the previous month, affecting the decline of CPI by about 0.24 percentage points. Among foods, pork prices rose by 12.5%, a decrease of 0.1 percentage point from the previous month. The price of fresh vegetables changed from a decrease of 1.9% last month to a rise of 0.7%, the prices of fresh fruits and eggs fell by 1.2% and 0.4%, respectively, and the prices of mutton and beef fell by 7.7% and 5.7% respectively. Non-food prices turned from flat last month to rising 0.6%. Among non-food products, service prices rose by 1.3%, an increase of 1.1 percentage points from the previous month. Among them, the prices of air tickets and transportation rental fees rose by 28.0% and 19.8%, an increase of 24.0 and 13.9 percentage points from the previous month, respectively. Travel agency fees changed from a decrease of 3.6% last month to a rise of 2.5%; industrial consumer goods prices fell by 0.3%, an increase of 0.1 percentage points from the previous month. Among them, gasoline and diesel prices fell by 0.6% and 0.7%, respectively. Prices of household appliances such as air purifiers, washing machines, range hoods, refrigerators, and air conditioners fell by between 3.4% and 5.0%, and fuel cars and new energy cars fell by 1.8% and 6.2% respectively.
