Original title: Building space cloud infrastructure OpenSpace open source space ecosystem officially released2,600 open source computing constellations are open to the world for co-construction
On October 17, at the 2026 Kaiyun Aerospace AOE Ecological Conference, the OpenSpace open source space ecosystem was officially released.Beijing Kaiyun United Information Technology Group Co., Ltd. joined hands with Oriental Space Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Galaxy Aerospace (Beijing) Technology Group Co., Ltd., Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China Space Foundation, China Commercial Investment (Shenzhen) Private Equity Fund Management Co., Ltd., National Key Laboratory of Space Target Awareness, Zhejiang Branch of China People's Property Insurance Co., Ltd., Beijing Zero Weight Space Technology Co., Ltd. and other industry-university research funding units. The nine parties jointly launched the OpenSpace open source space ecosystem and open source community, and witnessed the release of the open source computing constellation plan.

Currently, the commercial aerospace industry is developing rapidly, but problems such as complex standards, incompatible interfaces, and repeated research and development in the industry chain have become core bottlenecks restricting industrial innovation. In this context, the OpenSpace open source space ecosystem came into being. This ecosystem "does not manufacture satellites or rockets" and is positioned as the underlying cornerstone and connector of the aerospace industry. With open source mechanisms and unified standards as its core, it is committed to building a global open and co-constructed aerospace technology community.
As an important carrier of the ecosystem, the OpenSpace open source community is open to the world, relying on the Internet and blockchain architecture to build a ubiquitous satellite interconnection network, providing developers with full-process support from development tools to on-orbit verification, promoting global innovation entities to participate in the development and deployment of space applications, and realizing the open sharing, joint construction and common use of space resources.
The first phase of the constellation plans to launch 2,600 satellites, including 1,000 general computing satellites, 1,000 intelligent computing/supercomputing satellites, 500 edge computing satellites, and 100 quantum computing satellites.
"Gather thousands of sparks to build shared space." The OpenSpace open source space ecosystem aims to make every satellite a node of the open source space network. In the future, the ecosystem will continue to attract global partners to join, break industry barriers with open source collaboration, promote the aerospace industry from independent research and development to open collaborative innovation, and help high-quality development of commercial aerospace.
