CCTV news: At present, the three astronauts of the Shenzhou 21 crew have been working in orbit for more than 4 months. According to the China Manned Space Engineering Office, at 19:35 on March 16, the astronaut crew of Shenzhou 21 successfully completed the second extravehicular activity.

After seven hours of extravehicular activities, the Shenzhou 21 crew astronauts Zhang Lu, Wu Fei, and Zhang Hongzhang worked closely together, and with the cooperation and support of the space station's robotic arm and ground scientific researchers, successfully completed the installation of space debris protection devices and other tasks. The extravehicular astronauts Zhang Lu and Wu Fei have safely returned to the Wentian experimental module, and the extravehicular activity was a complete success.

Astronaut Zhang Lu has carried out a total of 6 extravehicular activities, becoming one of the Chinese astronauts who have performed the most extravehicular missions.

Since the Shenzhou 21 astronaut crew successfully completed its first extravehicular activity on December 9, 2025, it has completed equipment inspection and maintenance, environmental monitoring, health management and other tasks in the space station, carried out on-orbit training such as rendezvous and docking, medical rescue, emergency lifesaving, etc., and has steadily advanced its experimental projects in the fields of space life science and human body research, microgravity physics, and new space technologies, and spent the New Year of the Horse in orbit.

Currently, the three astronauts have been working in orbit for more than 4 months. According to the plan, astronaut crew extravehicular activities will also be implemented during the mission, and relevant scientific experiments and technical tests will continue to be carried out.
