The reporter learned from the launch ceremony of the National "Quality Certification Publicity and Experience Week" today that the State Administration for Market Regulation recently released the latest core data for the organic industry in 2025.

In 2025, my country's organic planting area and output will achieve double growth. The domestic organic crop planting area will reach 3.696 million hectares, ranking fourth in the world.From 2021 to 2025, the average annual compound growth rate of domestic organic planting area will remain stable at 6%, and industrial production capacity will steadily increase.From the perspective of regional layout, the five major agricultural provinces such as Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia account for nearly 70% of the country's organic planting area and are the core areas for domestic organic raw material supply. In terms of category structure, cereal crops occupy a dominant position in both planting area and total output.

The total number of registered organic product certification marks nationwide in 2025 will reach 6.65 billion, a year-on-year increase of 16.7%, of which 6.53 billion will be registered for domestic products and 120 million will be registered for overseas products, continuing the good momentum of steady growth.From 2021 to 2025, the average annual compound growth rate of organic label registration volume will reach 14.3%.Organic consumption has gradually lost its niche attributes and begun to integrate into the daily consumption of the public, becoming an important force in promoting the upgrading of green consumption and promoting the green transformation of agriculture.

In 2025, the total sales of organic products in my country will exceed 152.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22%.In the past five years, the average annual compound growth rate of organic product sales has been 10%. Starting from 2022, my country's organic consumer market will firmly rank among the top three in the world.From the perspective of consumption structure, organic processed products contribute more than 90% of sales. Dairy products, alcohol, and infant food are the main organic categories in the market, accounting for more than 70% of the market share. At the same time, sales of vegetable products, convenience foods, and organic beverages have increased significantly, reflecting the rapid upgrading of national consumption demand for green diet.

Currently, my country has established an organic product certification system, implementing unified national standards, certification rules, certification catalogs and certification marks, and realizing the traceability of organic products’ “one product, one code” throughout the chain.
