CCTV news: The reporter learned from the Ministry of Transport that on August 18, with the official naturalization of two ships to China Yangpu Port, the total number of international ships registered with "China Yangpu Port" exceeded 100, and the Hainan Free Trade Port's shipping hub function continued to improve.

On the morning of August 18, as the brand-new international ship registration certificate was officially handed over from the Hainan Maritime Safety Administration to the shipowner's representatives, the 100th naturalized ship, the "Guoxin Hai", successfully landed in Yangpu. It is understood that the "Guoxinhai" ship that has completed naturalization this time is a large dry cargo ship and will be mainly used in Central Europe and South America routes in the future.Immediately afterwards, the "Rong Shengxing" ship also completed registration and became the 101st naturalized ship, which will focus on Southeast Asia route operations.Up to now, the number of registered ships in "China Yangpu Port" has reached 101, with a total tonnage of more than 5.2 million, and a total transportation capacity of more than 8.9 million deadweight tons. The number of registered ships and transportation capacity scale rank first in the country's free trade zones (ports). The total tonnage of Hainan's international navigation ships ranks second in the country. The Hainan Free Trade Port's shipping hub function continues to improve.

Deputy Director of Hainan International Ship Registration Administration Zhang Danzhu said that in the early days, the fleet structure of "China Yangpu Port" was dominated by traditional ship types, mainly oil and gas ships, bulk carriers and container ships. At present, it has expanded to high-end fields such as refrigerated ships, semi-submersible ships, and offshore engineering ships.

The rapid growth in the number of ships is inseparable from the continuous optimization of ship registration services in Yangpu, Hainan.Hainan Free Trade Port has the country’s only “zero-tariff” ship import policy and new shipbuilding value-added tax refund policy. With the support of these policies, the tax benefits alone for ships settling in "China Yangpu Port" exceed 10 million yuan. From March 2026, business related to established ship operations will be able to achieve “one thing at once”.Zhang Danzhu said that through a series of innovative measures, ship registration application materials have been reduced by more than 60% and the overall service time has been increased by 90%.Calculated based on a 300,000-ton ultra-large oil tanker, a single ship can save up to 5 million yuan in cost.In the future, policy linkages between ship registration and shipping finance, insurance, maritime arbitration and other industries will be explored to cultivate and expand high-end shipping service industries.
