In response to the Trump administration’s recent proposal to impose additional import tariffs on goods from some countries, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a regular press conference on June 3 that China has always opposed all forms of unilateral tariff measures. Tariff wars and trade wars are not in the interests of any party. Economic and trade issues should be resolved through dialogue and consultation on the basis of equality, respect and reciprocity.
