Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, March 30 (Reporters Wan Qianyi and Ma Zhuoyan) In response to the four U.S. senators’ visit to Taiwan, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a regular press conference on the 30th that China has always firmly opposed official exchanges between the United States and Taiwan and has made solemn representations to the United States. The United States should abide by the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiques, handle the Taiwan issue prudently and properly, stop any form of official exchanges between the United States and Taiwan, stop sending any wrong signals to the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, and take practical actions to safeguard the overall situation of China-U.S. relations and peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. China's position on Taiwan-related issues is consistent and clear, and it will take necessary measures to firmly safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
